Short article from the New Mexican

Lady Horsemen rout Valencia When Martin Romero said the Lady Horsemen of St. Michael's High School were "effective with everything" Monday night, he need only bring up the final score. St. Michael's 58, Valencia 18. It was 40-4 at halftime of the nondistrict girls basketball game in Los Lunas. "We gave up a three-point play and one free throw," Romero said of the first quarter, which ended 23-4. "Other than that, they hardly took a shot." Sarah Hattis finished with 16 points and Mariah Gonzales added 10 for the Lady Horsemen (6-2). The blowout was not benefits. "You work on execution," Romero said. "We've been trying to run. The last two games we've gotten quite a few easy points off the fastbreak." Romero praised Capital. "Those coaches are getting the girls to play hard for them and I see the program moving in the right direction," he said.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I just wanted to wish everyone a merry belated Christmas and an early happy new year! We love you guys and miss you already. We had a wonderful Christmas and were blessed again this year with a visit from Santa. We even had a white Christmas with snow falling sporadically throughout the day. I had to sit back among the mess of wrapping paper and toys and just enjoy the happiness in my children. It truly was a blessed day. I hope that all of you had an equally great day! Can't wait to get together again. Love you all, Carly

San Francisco Trip - 2007

During our trip last summer to San Francisco and eventually to San Diego, we took a day ride around the Castro Valley area to a scenic area known as Mount Diablo State Park. I distracted Barbara as we were maneuvering the switch back roads on our way down from the peak. Barbara endured a slow speed accident resulting in a few broken ribs, a broken clavical, and a punctured lung. She spent 10 glorious days in the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. She has survived to ride again. She got back in the saddle and has ridden to school already this year.
